As a previous wedding coordinator and entrepreneur, I know how crucial it is to have a brand that reflects your vision, resonates with clients, and keeps your calendar booked.

My love story with web design started with creating my own website for my interior design business in 2021. Just a slight flirtation, some banter but nothing too serious - I was more interested in content than designing. I created a ton of blog posts, social media ads, and even notched a few magazine features under my belt!

My SEO traffic had grown so much, even after leaving that sector, I was still receiving inquiries and had been featured in Martha Stewart!

Then my best friend (my extrovert sister who pushes me to get out of my comfort zone) got engaged, I decided to follow my passion - weddings! I’d been obsessed since middle school, in the way way back of 2008 Four Weddings (iykyk 😬). I worked in the industry for years connecting with wedding pros from the Chesapeake Bay to Kentucky River, Manhattan to Memphis.

I’ve always been a bit tech savvy (thanks mom and dad!), creative, and ‘of course!’ - I love a challenge. For both of my businesses, I did my own WordPress website with separate hosting - and man was that an undertaking!

I learned a lot about SEO, web design, engagement drivers, social media, and creating and tweaking copy to better match business brand and my ideal clients. The WordPress of it all was a bit of a small learning curve, but there has to be a more user-friendly way to do this right? Right?!

‘Well yeah, let me introduce you to Squarespace.’ And it’s been “love-at-first-click” ever since. No more of that hosting back and forth nonsense!

Now I like to say the other host got jealous because I was exploring something new, because well within a month I was dumped! All of my posts, my website, even my email were just… poof! Gone! And to say I was upset? I WAS DEVASTED!

I spent years building these websites on my own, sunk thousands into marketing and years of hard work were just gone?!

So what do you do? Do you rebuild or rebrand or…? I’m gonna be really honest about that, I didn’t know. I took time off to focus on school, get a “real job” (and partially to lick my wounds), and spend time family. All the while, helping out friends with small tweaks to their sites and updating our webpages at work.

I regained my courage and flipped through other vendors sites again, ready to start slowly networking. And then it hit me again, the same way it did when I started years ago. So many talented and amazing professionals are struggling to present their work online in a way that truly reflected their unique style.
